Uncovering the hidden diversity of the leaf litter

My research focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of Appalachian myriapods, a group of animals which includes millipedes and centipedes. Myriapods are often overlooked, despite their great diversity in the mountains of eastern North America. My work deals with documenting and describing species from North America while discovering their natural history, and using this knowledge to connect people with the myriapods in their own backyards.
